A Mike Shoup Christmas
30.Nov.2005
While doing some needed shopping today my eyes spotted the ultimate Christmas decoration! My inner child, oh who am I kidding, I laughed with glee and felt like dancing with Lucy to one of Schroeder’s masterpieces. I brought the tree home and realized that not only is it the first Christmas tree I’ve ever purchased but my first Christmas decoration as well. How very fitting for such a pathetic looking thing! …I’m talking about the tree, of course.
Of course, I had to proudly show my Christmas tree to the internet and ended up with some interesting photos. This photo occurred accidentally when I forgot to take the flash off and got this cool looking disco ball effect. Not sure what exactly the white specks are, but I’m guessing they’re all the imperfections in the glass ball. Either that or the ball has a bad case of dandruff.
This photo is just the obligatory reflection shot. Please excuse the blurriness, my archaic digital camera doesn’t have a macro lens or even a zoom for that matter! Archaic as in the same 1.3 megapixels that most camera phones can produce these days. I want to get a nice digital SLR, but think I’ll wait until I’m done with boot.

29.Nov.2005Yes, ladies and germs, it is once again that time of year! Crisp leaves falling from the trees. Jack Frost nipping at your nose. Neighborhoods decorated with brilliant lights and decorations. Children running around maniacally with that gleam of Christmas in their eyes. Parents running around maniacally with that gleam of Christmas debt in their eyes. The thought alone of hot cocoa warming you up. The first ski strip of the season! The saturating, yet deep smell of pine as you decorate the Christmas tree. That startling shock you get when you touch the frellin’ car door!!

23.Nov.2005I have tried the new pumpkin pie blizzard at Dairy Queen and it is good. Make sure you get it with whip cream, apparently not all locations serve it with whip cream. Boo, Ludlow location!
Have a great Thanksgiving everyone. Except for the Canucks, Happy November 24th to you!
