Snoqualmie FallsI am in the emerald city of Seattle this weekend, hosted by none other than Kara and Nate (he has yet to make an appearance, some lame excuse about work or some such). I almost didn’t make it thanks to those well educated types we affectionately call the TSA. It didn’t help that I had completely forgotten about the whole plastic bag/liquids deal, but do you really have to make me get a plastic bag and go back through security AFTER I’ve already been through the magnetometer, had my bag scanned and searched by hand, pulled out the offending tube of toothpaste and shaving gel and scolded me for not putting these things in a separate plastic bag? Really? Yeah, I guess you’re trying to prove a point that will never get across. Kind of like me trying to convince you to get your GED, huh?

Snoqualmie LadybugAnyway, I don’t even think it took me a whole day to be reminded again of why I don’t want to stay in Southern California anymore than I absolutely have to. And no, it isn’t just the photogenic smogless landscape. There are far more subtle and even not so subtle reminders of other places lived that allow me to recall what’s lurking behind the Orange Curtain. And yes, I do know that because I have now said this I will probably end up living there for life. And so it goes…

Snoqualmie KaraKara and I took a jaunt up to Snoqualmie Falls yesterday. A beautiful view and a great hike. I think she’s just trying to show off where they live, but I can’t prove it. The rest of the photostream is up in the Gallery. By all means, envy. More adventures to follow soon.
