An Interesting Day

So there I was making good time on the road trip through New Mexico when I found myself drifting into the shoulder off the left lane.  Yet when I tried to correct, the rear tires grabbed and swung towards the median pulling me even further in.  Then the tires caught sideways and I rolled the Jetta.  It all happened in the blink of an eye, so I can’t tell you how much I rolled or how cool it looked.  Amazingly, I came out completely unscathed.  I can’t say the same for the Jetta, it’s currently sitting in a salvage yard looking pretty bad.

Don’t worry, I am okay.  Of course, that has always been relative so take it how you like.  I should have a rental car tomorrow and be continuing the journey.   I just have to unload one car, clean as much dust and dirt off all my stuff and load it all into another car.  Fun stuff!

Bama Bound

As you read this I should be on the road somewhere between SoCal and the deepest southeastern corner of Alabama. Phone calls are appreciated as I’m sure I’ll be bored out of my mind staring down I-10 for 12 hours straight.

Once again I will attempt to keep a journal to the best of my ability over the next six weeks but I can’t guarantee if I will get it up on the blog or not. I’m sure there will be plenty of stories, hopefully there will be some cool ones, but I’m pretty sure most of them will be about my arse getting kicked up and down the Fort on the way to becoming a Warrant Officer.  If you get bored, go read the About page it was updated about a month ago.

I’m not sure how communication will work once in WOCS, I’m sure I will have a mailing address and that should go up here as soon as I get it. There are also rumors of being allowed to use cellphones at some point but I’m not holding my breath. I guess we’ll just wait and see. Again, letters will be greatly appreciated and responded to as soon as possible like last time.

With that I will bid adieu and see all of you in about a year’s time. Hopefully, I’ll get to see some of you sooner.
