More Noise Complaints

3.Jul.2009

For those bored this evening or even possibly attending the game, I’ll be flying the second Blackhawk over the Angels game.  I believe the game is being broadcast on Fox Sports West, don’t know if it will be on a local channel.

Then tomorrow I’ll be doing the same thing for the base’s Independence Day celebration at sunset.  So if you’re sitting there in your drunken stupor tomorrow and wondering why a giant helicopter is circling overhead, wave back.

Today’s ponderances

21.Jan.2009

How exactly can Jeff Kent announce his retirement tomorrow when SportsCenter is announcing it today?

If your last name is Lemieux and you are in the NHL, is it a requirement that you retire for 4 or 5 years before returning to the sport?

Lastly, how many times can one not from ‘Bama tolerate Sweet Home Alabama while imprisoned in ‘Bama before making Charles Manson look like the poster child for Buddhism?

Twenty Years

5.Oct.2008

Regardless of what some may think, baseball is still in progress. But then you can’t really blame them when their local team goes .377 for the season, right?   Wait, yes you can! Look at the Dodgers, they went .519 for the season in the league’s worst division and yet just swept the Cubbies.  NO EXCUSE!

Then again if you told me it was because you were paying attention to the NHL’s pre-season over in Europe I might grant some leniency. But who are we kidding, no one’s watching games that don’t count! Besides, you’d probably have some lame excuse about wrestling Halloween decorations or some such nonsense.

Anyway, the Dodgers just won their first playoff series in twenty years and are headed for the land of beer or the land of cheesesteaks. The Cubbies, on the other hand, get another year to do whatever it is they do with that poor goat.
